Welcome to the United Church of God's Website for the Feast
of Tabernacles on Jekyll Island, Georgia! This year the
dates are October 13 through October 21, 2008 and all
services will be held in Hartley Auditorium, 1 Beachview
Drive. The opening service will be at 7:30 pm on October 13.
Located in the Atlantic Ocean, just off the southern coast
of Georgia, Jekyll Island was once an exclusive resort area
for American millionaires in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The state of Georgia now owns the island and has opened it
to everyone. Visitors come from around the world to enjoy
the peaceful environment offering beautiful beaches, hiking,
fishing (requires a license), golfing, tennis and wildlife
viewing (65 percent of the island is a nature preserve). A
tour of Millionaires’ Village is one of the highlight
attractions. Some visitors also enjoy horseback riding on
Jekyll Island or nearby St. Simons Island.
In addition to having services every day, we have planned a
wide variety of activities for people of all ages. This year
we plan to have a
Family Beach Party and a Family Dance. Of
course we’ll also have activities for teens, singles, and a
luncheon for seniors. Perhaps you’ll want to play in our
annual golf tournament or just relax in Jekyll Island’s
peaceful tranquility. The location, services, and activities
are sure to make this year's feast in Jekyll Island a truly
memorable one.
As for planning what kinds of clothes to bring, temperatures
on Jekyll Island in the fall range from 60
to 75 degrees
Fahrenheit (16 to 24 degrees Celsius), with the possibility
of rain. Major airports for arrival and departure are
Savannah, Georgia; Brunswick, Georgia; and Jacksonville,
Florida. A rental car is advised and don't forget that there
is a $3 toll per vehicle every time one enters the island.
One week passes may also be purchased.

opportunities to serve. If you have questions, send me an
